Rocket Destroys Garage.

01.30.06 (11:35 pm)   [edit]

I didn't think that anything else could happen in my neighborhood. but I was wrong. On Friday night I was sitting at my computer as usual reading blogs when I hear a very loud explosion, I mean it was like my heart stopped for a moment, it scared the hell out of me. I thought now what was that, I then figured it was my next door neighbor had sat his cannon off, something that he has been doing every big holiday for the last 20 years. The only thing was, it was not a holiday.

I went back to what I was doing when about ten minutes later the doorbell is ringing like crazy, its my friend from across the street telling me that we should all get out of the house because there was an explosion next door. I gather the family and go outside the street is full of fire trucks and police cars, red lights flashing all over. It looked like something from a movie.

My next door neighbor was building a rocket and it exploded and knocked his garage door wide open and blew practically every door out in the front of his house, talking about lucky that he didnt get killed. He only had the front of his hair singed and some burns. It made the papers next day.Said he had been building rockets for the last five years and he was using a powder that he didn't know was shock sensitive. I saw him the next day and he was asking was I alright and apologizing for what happened. I told him that I was just glad that he was okay.

Its strange though how the smell still hangs in the air. It was  so strong on Friday night and you had a sweet taste in the back of your throat. It was still there when I came home today.

If nothing else happens in this neighborhood any time soon I will be happy.

The Law Is The Law

01.12.06 (12:53 am)   [edit]

The Law Is the Law.So if the US Govt.believes that it is against the law for the words "Under God" to be on our money, than So Be It.

And if that same Govt. decides that "The Ten Commandments"are not to be used in or on Govt. installations, then, So Be It.

I say,"So Be It", because I would like to be a law abiding US citzen. I say "So Be It"because I would like to think that smarter people than I are in position to make good decisions.

I would like to think that these people have the American public best interest at heart. But you know what else I'd like.

Since we can't pray to God, can't trust in God and can't post his commandment in govt. buildings.I don't believe the govt. and it's employees should participate in easter and christmas celebrations which honor the God that our  govt. is eliminating from anerican life.

I'd like my mail delivered on christmas and all holidays, after all its just another day.

I'd like the US supreme court to be in session on christmas and sundays, after all its just another day.I'd like the senate and the house of represenatives to not worry about getting home for christmas break.after all its just another day.

I'm thinking a lot of my tax dollars could be savrd if all govt. offices would work on holidays. It shouldn't cost overtime since its just another day.

Just like any other day to a govt. thats trying to be "Politically Correct" In fact I think our govt. should work on Sunday ( initially set aside for serving God) because, after all its just another day.

What do you all think???? If this idea get to enough people, maybe our elected officials will stop giving in to the miniority opinion and begin ,once again to represent the majority of all of the american people. So be it.

'Amen and Amen'

To cheap for his own good

01.08.06 (11:45 pm)   [edit]

Had a busy weekend, lots of flowers to do for church services, wire orders and one funeral. the main thing I want to tell you about is the funeral. The man that ordered the flowers placed the order over the phone, one of his friends died and they were going to have the service at the beach. He also wanted all of this writing on the ribbon which I reminded him that you could only put so much on a ribbon, finally got it down to saying, In memory of Don. When he picked the design up he said how beautiful. Wanted to pay with a check , I don't like to take checks, besides mostly everyone uses a credit card or debit card, he said he had neither. So I trusted him and took the check because he was running late for the funeral, said he would come back and and give me cash later, I told him not to bother.

At the end of the day almost time to go home, he calls and said he wanted to come and pay me cash anyway. On arriving he pulls out all of these big bills, ask how much, I tell him the amount and then the shocker, he wants to know if I can take the flowers back that he had taken to the funeral and give him a discount. I told him no. Then he wants to know can't I resell them, the answer is still no. He finally pays and leaves. I could not get over the nerves of this man, it wasn't because he was broke but rather because he was cheap.
