Avoid Santa Monica Hotel
I recently took a trip to Santa Monica with my family just to get away and relax.When I travel anywhere I make advance reservations on line for a hotel. After looking through the long list of hotels I chose one that really sounded nice. It was described as the largest suite in the hotel with a view of the ocean. sounded good to me so made reservations with my credit card.
We first went to Venice Beach to see the sights and have lunch,we couldn't check into the hotel until 3 PM. It was only a short drive from there to Santa Monica. We finally found the hotel using our mapquest directioms. The only problem, where is the Santa Monica Luxury suite hotel, I know we are on the right street, finally I spot what I think is it large hotel right on the corner. we park the dar in the indoor garage and proceed into the hotel, present my reservations only to be told that I am in the wrong one the one I am looking for is right next door. We walk out look and check adresses again, where is it, finally we see one door with the number on it and no way to get in,the door was locked.there was asign that said to call this number to get ib like an apartment.no answer the first time, called again and a man anawered and I told him that I had reservations,when I told him my name he said didn't you get my message that the suite was no longer available but he was going to let me in that he did have another room to go up to the third floor and check it out, no elevator, no foyer or anything, as we are climbing the urine stained carpets I am getting more a more pissed off, you should have seen the room, nothng like the pictures, one thing it did have a beautiful view.I told him no thanks and left. we ended up goi g back to the first hotel, it was a nice hotel so I wenr back there and the man said he had one room left that it was close to the laundry room if I didn't mind. I told him about the dump next door he just smiled because I am sure that he has seen this same thing happen many times before. I was very grateful to God for a room by this time as it was getting late.
When we arrived back home I wrote the company and told them about it,this was my first bad experience booking online.They sent a letter saying that they would investigate it. what this hotel does is like a bait and switch, once there they say that room is no loger available but we have another one that you can have at a little cheaper price.
I will continue to make my reservations on line because I have always been very satisfied,there will always be unscrupulous people out there with their slick marketing an &n bsp;lies tryin g to get our hard earned money that we have to be aware of.
If you ever visit Santa Monica, stay away from Santa Monica Luxury Suites.
Time To Grow Up
How long do you continue to forgive a person that works for you because he is a family friend even though he is a total mess up.I have written about him more then once so most tblog friends know him, he is the one that rather play than work,will take off to go to magic mountain no matter how busy we are, the last thing that I forgave him for was smoking you know what behind the shop.
He was just released from jail after serving 45 days on a DUI, lost his license and his car, even though he couldn't deliver flowers, he is also a very good designer so I let him come back. He worked good for two days. On Mon.the 13th. busiest nite of the year an old buddy calls, I hear him on the phone making plans to leave around 5 or 6, couldn't believe my ears, we have so many flowers to do that we will be lucky to leave at all. I told him that you must be jokeing about going out to party on one of the busiest nites of the year, said he had to go spend time with his friend.I gave him his pay and told him to go and never return, he left and we finally finished about 12:15AM, dragged myself home and back up to buy more flowers early on valentines day.
A lot of women should have been happy that day because the men really did order a lot of flowers. who shows up to work as usual expecting me to forgive him. I told him to put the flowers down and leave. he was in shock because we were so busy that he just knew that I was going to say get in there and help out.I was determined that no matter what I was not giving in. after waiting around hoping that I would give in he finally left.
he has been back twice since then, the first time very boistrous telling me how mean I am, the second time very quiet wanting to know could we at least still be friends, I never answered and he finally left.
His mom called and I told her what happened, she understood and said its for the best because she thinks he needs to go to a treatment facility. he is homeless now, because he was sleeping in his car and he lost that.He could have made a lot of money doing valentines day but he chose to go party instead. This man is 35years old, when is he going to grow up? I think NEVER.
Send Flowers To yourself
I have been so busy at work preparing for the big rush on valentines day that I heavent had time or the desire to write anything.had to go to the Dr. also to see why I wasn't feeling my usual perky self, diagnosis Diabetes.I was shocked plus a little depressed at first,thinking about having to watch everything I eat etc.The good thing is I will just have to take pills, much better then injections.
Hope everyone have a good Valentines Day. Don't forget to let that special someone know how much you care.
One last thing ,did you know that at least 15% of women send flowers to themselves on Valentines day so that they won't feel left out,plus the high that they get when receiving them andtheir coworkers being jealous that its not them.
Don't forget Red roses for passion, white for purity and yellow for friendship.
