"Don't Get Old"
There is only one alternative to growing old and that is to die young. There are some terrible things that are happening to our elderly population,A lot of them are barely getting by trying to make ends meet with their social security checks, I have read about some actually eating cat and dog food, even though I don't know how true that is.others have planned better for their retirement years and live comfortably.
The problem is when you are no longer able to care for yourself and need help,which is what happened to a local couple.they hired a woman from a care giving agency and both she and her husband moved in. shortly after they moved in, they talked the elderly couple into signing over power of attorney to them, then they immediately got a quitclaim deed on their home of 40 years.they then purchased 3 new cars using the couples credit cards, they also ordered extensive cable service including pornography. Now this really takes the cake they moved the couple out of their home into a motel. The authorities finally intervened and served a protective order and a kick-out order to the crooked pair, The elderly couple was finally returned to their home, but the couple continued to victimize the couple by using their credit card. The extent of the credit card fraud is up to $53,000 or more, the police is not sure. they are now in jail on charges of theft by a caretaker,grand theft auto,fraud and stolen property
For all of the heartache they cost this elderly couple, I think that they deserve life behind bars.

TOKYO - The number of Japanese living beyond 100 has almost quadrupled in the past 10 years, with the once-exclusive centenarian club expected to surpass 28,000 this year, the government said Friday.
The Health Ministry said Japan was likely to have 28,395 citizens aged 100 years or older at the end of September, a jump from last year's record 25,554 — of which women comprised 85 percent. The ministry conducted a nationwide survey and the figure is a projection of centenarians by the end of the month.
The number of people living older than 100 has been on the rise since 1971, and has accelerated since 1996 when Japan had 7,373 people who had reached three figures, according to the ministry.
The rapid increase underscores both positive and negative sides of the country's aging population.
While experts say that there are more active centenarians than before, the rapidly graying population adds to concerns over Japan's overburdened public pension system.
Its centenarian population is expected to reach nearly 1 million — the world's largest — by 2050, according to U.N. projections.
Yone Managua is the oldest woman at 113 in the southern Japanese prefecture of Fukuoka, while the oldest man at 110 is Tomoji Tanabe in another southern prefecture, Miyazaki, the ministry said.
Tanabe drinks milk and keeps a diary every day, saying that the key to long life is not to drink alcohol, the ministry said.
Tokyo has the most centenarians with 2,562. Okinawa, Japan's southernmost chain of islands, has the highest concentration, with 740 centenarians, or 54 for every 100,000 people, well above a nationwide average of 22 per 100,000.
The ratio for the United States was about 18 in 100,000, according to the 2000 census.
The announcement was made prior to Respect for the Aged Day on Sept. 18, a national holiday honoring the country's elderly, when the government gives each new centenarian a letter from the prime minister and a silver cup.right.
Pitt and Jolie help Rebuild New Orleans
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie is doing all they can to help rebuild New Orleans.Brad started a design competition in April to rebuild the most hard hit areas. He was there to announce the winner of the competition which was won by a New York firm. the first developement will take place in the ninth ward. The project will include six single family homes, 12 multi family homes, A community center and play area. They said that more then 100 indivuals submitted designs.
Brad got to see new New Orleans for the first time in July and stated that he was appalled and embrassed that people still cannot return home because of lack of basic service. also stated that in a castrophe you help the most vulnerable and that we failed.
It will be the first developement in the ninth ward. Pitt contributed 100,000 to underwrite the contest , he also gave another 100,00 to cover the prize money.
At least someone is doing something besides talking.

"One Flaw In Women"
By the time the Lord made woman, he was into His sixth day of working overtime. As angel appeared and said, Why are you spending so much time on this one?
And the Lord answered, Have you seen my spec sheet on her? She has to be completely washable, but not plastic, have over 200 movable parts, all replaceable, and able to run on diet coke and leftovers, have a lap that can hold four children at one time, have a kiss that that can cure anything from a scraped knee to a broken heart-and she will do everything with only two hands. The angel was astounded at the requirements. Only two hands! No way! And that's just on the standard model? Thats too much work for one day. Wait until tomorrow to finish.
But won't, the Lord protested. I am so close to finishing this creation that is so close to my own heart. She already heals herself when she is sick AND can work 18-hour days.
The angel moved closer and touched the woman. but you have made her so soft, Lord. She is soft, the Lord agreed, but I have also made her touch. You have no idea what she can endure or accomplish.
Will she be able to think? asked the angel. The Lord replied, Not only will she be able to think, she will be able to reason and negotiate.
The angel then noticed something, and reaching out, touched the womens cheek. Oops, it looks like you have a leak in this model. I told you that you were trying to put too much into this one.Thats not a leak, the Lord corrected, thats a tear! Whats the tear for?the angel asked. The Lord said, the tear is her way of expressing her joy, her sorrow, her pain, her disappointment, her love, her loneliness, her grief and her pride.
The angel was impressed. You are a genius, Lord. You thought of everything! Woman is truly amazing.
And she is! Women have the strengths that amaze men. They bear hardship, and they carry burdens; but they hold happiness, love, and joy.
They smile when they want to scream. They sing when they want to cry. They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous. They fight for what they believe in. They stand up to injustice. They don't take no for an answer when they believe there is a better solution. They go without so that their family can have. They go to the doctor with a frightened friend. They love unconditionally. They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards. They are happy when they hear about a birth or a wedding. Their hearts break when a friend dies. They grieve at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left. They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors. They'll drive, fly, walk, run, or mail you this to show how much they care about you. The heart of a women Is what makes the world keep turning. They bring joy, hope and love. They have compassion and ideals. They give moral support to their family and friends. Women have vital things to say and everything to give.
However, if there is one flaw in women, it is that they forget their worth.

A man in Cape Girardeau Mo. was so bitter over the breakup with his wife that he decided to air some dirty laundry.He gained access to his ex-wifes e-mail without her consent. He then e-mailed her family a link to a web site with a message something nice to see. The link took them to a web site that contained several pornographic pictures taken of her when they were married how dirty can a person be, imagine her embarrasment.
He was sentenced to 20 days in jail for misdemeanor tampering.

Soldiers Die, CEO'S Prosper
I feel outrage as to why we continue to stay the course In Iraq when we have lost 2,600 of our young men and women over there.The July toll for civilians is 3,500.I understand that those who are aiming for civil war wants to kill 30,000 by years end.
Next to the pile of bodies is the report of money paid out to 34 defense CEO'S, nearly 1 trillion dollars.The pay for and average soldier is $25,000 a year,The pay for a CEO is 7.7 million a year.I won't go through the list of companies but the top money makers are United Technologies, General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin and Halliburton. The disgraced former CEO of body armor maker made $192 million in stocks in 2004.There seems to be no end to the greed .I think that war is a real money maker.

What is an Attractive Person?
Millions ask themselves that daily, they agonize over how they look, usually comparing themselves to the false Hollywood version of Beauty.Tall thin,perfect teeth and smile,perfect figure etc. This is not the norm.Life is not all about outward beauty but inner beauty is what counts.I have met some really Beautiful people but they acted so stuck up and conceited that their actions made them ugly and no one wanted to be around them. Then I have met others that wasn't as attractive but they were so sweet and nice to be with that the inner Beauty made them popular and someone that you wanted to spend time with.
I think that we should strive daily to Smile and let the inner Beauty shine through.
For attractive lips, speak words of kindness. For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people. For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry. For beautiful hair, let a child run his fingers through it once a day. For poise, walk with the knowledge you'll never walk alone ...
