"What Is My Blog Worth"
I have Whisper to thank for my interest in what my blog is worth. He recently posted on blog worth. the post also pointed us to the Pingoat.com site where you put your url and then it would show what your site was worth. Whisper stated that his site was only worth 13,00 I think.Imagine my surprise when mr. pingoat said my site was worth 0.00, no inbound links and nobody was linking to me. This began my search to find out who did have people linking to them. To my surprise people that I assumed were popular like Pastor Dave and others also had no links.
Some of our friends had lots of inbound links. Some top blogs were rosietulips-$55.78 with30 links, scubadiva-$52.44 with 26 links and our old friend surrogate with one of the highest worth with $128.26 and 72 links, quite impressive.Well I have been doing my homework and got busy on increasing my blogs worth, I now have a total value of $4.34 with 2 links., not very much.
If you want to increase your blog worth, you can exchange links, some people even buy links. I don't plan on going that route.
In my opinion our blogs are priceless, as long as we post what is important to us and receive feedback whether its favorable or not. To me that is what matters the most.
"I have fallen and can't get Up"
Have you ever fallen so fast and unexpectly that you didn't even have time to think? Well that happened to me at work today and I fell so hard that I was sure that I had broken a leg or something, anyway after feeling like a plum idiot and glad no one was around to witness what I am sure was a hilarious sight.Thank God I was finally able to get up and Find out that I was able to walk. Thankfully, I think that I only have a badly sprained ankle. My husband, the nurse has been taking very good care of me, elevated pillow, ice pack and pain medicine. Well I should milk this for all its worth, I am getting lots of TLC here and I want all of my tblog friends to send cards , candy and flowers.
"Happy Thanksgiving"
We all have so much to be thankful for.As we approach Thanksgiving Day, I start thanking about all of the many blessings that God has blessed me with and I am truly grateful for my family and friends, also all of my tblog friends that I feel so close to even though we have never met.I want to wish you all a wounderful Thanksgiving.
We see blessings in different ways and this is through a childs eyes:
One day a father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to
the country with the firm purpose of showing his son how poor people live. They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family. On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, "How was the trip?" "It was great, Dad." "Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked. "Oh yeah," said the son.
"So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father. The son answered: "I saw that we have one dog and they had four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end.
We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night. Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon. We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight. We have servants who serve us, but they serve others.
We buy our food, but they grow theirs. We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them."
The boy's father was speechless. Then his son added, "Thanks, Dad, for showing me how poor we are."
Isn't perspective a wonderful thing? Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for everything we have, instead of worrying about what we don't have. Appreciate every single thing you have, especially your friends!

'How bad do you hate your Ex?
I ask this question after reading about the man that hated his Ex wife so much that he cut his finger off with the ring still on it and presented it to her, what a cruel thing to do. You have to think that at one time they had to love each other. I couldn't help but wonder, what happens in a marriage that causes Love to turn into Hate?
He said it was his way of breaking free of her and that he would never marry again. He was charged with assault and Harassment. He stated that he has no regrets and could function fine without the finger.
FDA issues new warning about flu drug
Tamiflu is the number one drug of choice to be prescribed by doctors for treating the flu, or as a preventive against the flu. The normal side effects were to be expected but now new frightening side effects has emerged that has made the FDA take a second look in order to determine exactly how safe is tamiflu.
Most cases involved children under 17 and occurred in Japan. The cases include three people who fell to their deaths after taking the drug, including a 14-year-old boy who climbed atop the railing of his family's condominium, an FDA memo says.
The memo also cites the case of an 8-year-old in Japan who took one dose of Tamiflu and, about an hour and a half later, tried to run out the front door of his home. The child would not answer to his name and was growling, according to the memo, which was prepared in advance of an FDA pediatric advisory committee meeting Thursday.
Dr. Debra Birnkrant, director of the FDA's division of antiviral products, said it was not yet known if the abnormal behavior was caused by the drug or the flu, which can cause fever and delirium.
But she added, "Since there were a number of cases over the last year that we looked at, we thought it would be the prudent thing to make the public aware."
Another drug for seasonal flu, amantadine, has been associated with similar neurological side effects, mostly in the elderly, Birnkrant said.
The FDA's memo says 24.5 million Tamiflu prescriptions were filled in Japan from 2001 to 2005. In the U.S., 6.5 million prescriptions were filled in the same period.
Tamiflu is one of four treatments for seasonal flu in the U.S. It is usually taken to prevent or lessen the severity of the virus.
Most of the new cases of bizarre behavior are from Japan, where Tamiflu usage is the highest in the world. Between 2001 and 2005, Tamiflu was prescribed 24.5 million times in Japan, compared with just 6.5 million in the United States, which has more than twice the population, according to FDA. However, FDA believes U.S. usage could increase to Japanese levels.
"Legs Broken To Gain Height"
Would you be willing to have your legs deliberately broken to gain a few extra inches in height if it would help you get a better job or husband? officials in China are warning their citizens against going through this very painful procedure that has grown in popularity there.
The procedure is called Ilizarov or leg lengthening. It involves having the legs broken and affixed to a frame, then the legs are stretched a little every day. the bones fuse together to cover the separated area. this procedure can lengthen height up to 4 ft. or more. It is considered a long term investment in their future.
This procedure was first performed on Dwarfs to help them live a more normal life. I see on the net that it is so popular that other countries like India are even offering it. There is a site with pictures of the apparatus, that was developed By Dr Ilizarov in 1950.

Please do not send it back to me as I have already received it from a Very Good Looking, Damn Smart Woman! And remember this motto to live by: Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!" Have a wonderful day !

Six word stories by Alienflee
I had not planned on posting anything else until I came back from the funeral but after reading alienflee's blog I had to share it. Even though he is homeless he took the time to write several six word stories and I Wanted to share them with you.
Short stories
11.02.06 (6:45 pm)
Recently, I read a article from LadyG about writing a short stories only using six words, so here goes nothing. Knowing without knowing of being observed. Seeing the future without knowing it. New World Order. Manipulating the world. Aliens. Very advanced technologies. Knows all. Alien chip implants. Controls human minds. Exploratory. Experimental. Huge profits. Pharmaceutical businesses. War is business. Business is war. Words can make people move depending. Sex. Politics. Religion. All is taboo. Life. Humanities. Foods. Wine. Entertainment styles. Prejudgement. Insufficient thought processes. Racial dominance. Love women with same wave lengths. Life. Enjoyments. Abundance of entirety. Freedom. Due to time limitations here in the public library, I do not have enough time to write over thousands and thousands of words pertaining to six short stories.
"Death in the Family"
I am getting ready to go to my second funeral in less then a month. This time my husbands sister has died so we are getting ready to go to Ohio.We will be leaving on Wednesday and coming back on Sunday night.
My husband and his sister were very close, I could hear them laughing and talking on the phone together at least two or three times a week. he comes from a large family of eight kids .She is the first of the children to die.He is taking it pretty hard so Please say a prayer for those that pray and others we always say think good thoughts.
I have never been that close with my own family, I sometimes envy peiole that do have that close knit family. If you have that Cherish it and don't take it for granted.
"30 Year Old Prom Date"
How would you like to go to the prom and find out later that your date was 30 years old. When this story first came out It was called The Girl who refused to grow up. She was abused for years by her father. She finally reportrd the abuse and was placed in the foster care system. She started developing mental problems from years of abuse and was placed in a mental hospital. When she got out the hospital she enrolled in high school and got her diploma.
After getting her diploma, she took on a new identity. changed her name and started traveling. Everywhere she went she would enroll in high school.Even though she did not have the appropriate papers, the schools always gave her the benifit of the doubt and accepted her as a hard luck case from an abusive family just trying to get her diploma. She told the same story that her father was a satanist, had killed her mother and raped her.
In 1996 she moved to Washington and said she was 16 years old, was once again cared for by the foster system. She enrolled in high school. There she met a young man,he was 16 years old, they hit it off right away.started going steady and he took her to the prom.
Eventually her lies caught up with her.She was charged with theft and perjury. She was also diagnoised with having multiple personality disorder. most people say she was just a con artist, she was sentenced to three years in prison.
I feel sorry for the young man that took her to the prom, can you imagine how he felt when he found out that his date was actually 30 years old.
Write A Six Word Story
Can you write a story using only six words, there is a site that invites you to do just that. I have tried to come up with one but no luck yet. Give it a try. Check out short stories on wired .com.
We'll be brief: Hemingway once wrote a story in just six words ("For sale: baby shoes, never worn.") and is said to have called it his best work. So we asked sci-fi, fantasy, and horror writers from the realms of books, TV, movies, and games to take a shot themselves. Some examples of stories submitted:&n bsp; &nb sp; &nbs p;   ;
Failed SAT. Lost scholarship. Invented rocket.

Sudden infant death or SID is how it's normally called has caused so much pain and suffering. What a tragedy to put your Baby down for a nap only to go back and find it dead. This has happened to a friend close to me and to so many others that I have heard about.Usually the parents always blame them selves or they are sometimes under suspicion of doing something to have harmed the baby.New research has been done and a possible cause found.
An abnormality in the brain stems of babies is likely the biological cause of sudden infant death syndrome.
Researchers are hoping it will lead to a test that can identify newborns at risk of dying in their sleep.
According to Health Canada, three babies die of SIDS every week in this country and the risk seems to be greatest when infants are 2 to 4 months old.
While much is understood about risk factors — exposure to cigarette smoke or sleeping on tummies — until now little was known about the biology of the disease.
Specifically, they've found abnormalities in nerve cells that make and use serotonin, one of more than 100 chemicals in the brain that transmit messages between nerve cells.
"This confirms there is a biological problem in SIDS, that SIDS is a disease," said David Paterson, a neuroscientist with the Boston hospital and one of the paper's authors.
"That is important for parents who've had ... the horrible experience of having an infant lost to SIDS."
Serotonin regulates everything from mood to breathing. In the brain stem, it helps manage blood pressure and sensitivity to carbon dioxide.
If babies are sleeping on their stomachs, with their faces down or slightly covered by soft blankets, it is believed they breathe in exhaled carbon dioxide.
"The serotonin alarm system, if you like, because it isn't working properly, doesn't detect this or is unable to stimulate the baby to wake up and breathe," Paterson said.
That is why it is so important to make sure infants sleep on their backs, he added.
Of the 31 babies who died of SIDS in this study, 65 per cent were found on their stomach or sides, he noted.
