"Seven Years Of Pain"
So many mistakes are being made in hospitals daily that it makes you fearful to get sick and have to be admitted to one. I remember doing a post on something similar before but when I read about what happened to this poor woman I was just outraged at something like this happening that could have been prevented.
This story is about the towel found in the womans body 7 years after her death.She had surgery for emphysema and the surgeon mistakenly left a rolled up towel inside her chest. When surgical procedures are done there is a person there that keeps a count of every instrument, every towel etc.and what ever count you started with is the exact count you should get at the end of surgery. How the Dr. didn't see a towel is beyond me.
This poor woman suffered for 7 years, often complaining to her family of pain in her chest, she also said that she could feel something move in her chest.She donated her body to one of the teaching universities in Ohio and this is when she was opened up and a green surgical cloth the size of a large hand towel was found. The family sued the Dr. and the clinic and won and undisclosed amount. All charges was dismissed against the Dr.The doctor said that he didn't think that it affected her life, the courts disagreed.
I wonder how he would feel if he had to live with a towel in his chest for 7 years,would he still feel the same?
"Would You Sell Your LiFe"
I thought that I had heard it all and that there is not to much left that can shock me, I was wrong. Today I read about the young man that sold his life on EBay. He says he don't know why he did it.The sale included his name, phone number, all of his possessions, clothes , CD's, laptop, and childhood photos.The successful bid was 7,500 dollars or 5,790 US dollars.
The Guy still don't know why he did it, he says he is racking his brain to come up with a reason why .He says that he was bored and also intrigued as to what constitutes a life and what made him who he was.
His sales pitch said that the winner was entitled to 4 weeks training in how to be him.Lessons on all of his favorite sports like surfing, skateboading etc. 2 months of on call support.He would be introduced to all his friends and potential lovers.
His legal identity, and future inheritance was not part of the bid.
My question is who would want to buy someone else life?
"Go Shopping For A Husband"
A store that sells husbands has just opened where a woman may go to choose a husband from among many men. The store is composed of 6 floors, and the men increase in positive attributes as the shopper ascends the flights.
There is, however, a catch. As you open the door to any floor you may choose a man from that floor, but if you go up a floor, you cannot go back down except to exit the building.
So a woman goes to the shopping center to find a husband.
On the first floor the sign on the door reads:
Floor 1 - These men have jobs.
The woman reads the sign and says to herself, "Well, that's better than my last boyfriend, but I wonder what's further up?" So up she goes.
The second floor sign reads:
Floor 2 - These men have jobs and love kids.
The woman remarks to herself, "That's great, but I wonder what's further up?" And up she goes again.
The third floor sign reads:
Floor 3 - These men have jobs, love kids and are extremely good looking.
"Hmmm, better" she says. "But I wonder what's upstairs?"
The fourth floor sign reads:
Floor 4 - These men have jobs, love kids, are extremely good looking and help with the housework.
"Wow!" exclaims the woman, "very tempting. BUT, there must be more further up!" And again she heads up another flight.
The fifth floor sign reads:
Floor 5 - These men have jobs, love kids, are extremely good looking, help with the housework and have a strong romantic streak.
"Oh, mercy me! But just think... what must be awaiting me further on?" So up to the sixth floor she goes.
The sixth floor sign reads:
Floor 6 - You are visitor 6,875,953,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please.
"What You See Is Not Always What You Get"
There are lots of lonely women out there hoping to meet Mr. Right, and instead of going out to try and meet someone, they go to the dating sites on the web like e-harmony. This post is about a meeting that took place on myspace.
A woman started a cyber romance with who she thought was a single man and he thought he was corresponding with a beautiful 20 something yr.old woman. There was nothing but lies and deception between them.
The biggest deception occured when he wanted a picture of her, instead of sending her picture, she sent a picture of her beautiful young daughter , because she had lied about her age to him,she was really 46 years old.
She was not only having a cyber romance with him but also another young man had caught her eye and she started a cyber romance with him. She also sent him a picture of her daughter.
The married man got careless and his wife found out about the other woman.The wife got in touch with the woman and told her that he had lied on the internet about being single, and that he was actually married an had 4 children and to leave her husband alone. The woman continued her cyber romance with both of them.
We live in a Big world, right? So what is the possibility of the men not only knowing each other but work for the same company. They found out about each other when the young man started flashing the picture around of his girlfriend that he had met on myspace. The married man became very jealous as he thought he was really in love with this woman.
to make a long story short, One night after work he killed him, thinking like all criminals that no one would ever find out. After the investigation and checking his coworkers and his computer, the ivestigation led to him, he was arrested and charged with the murder. Can you imagine his surprise when he found out that the beautiful young woman in the picture that he was so in love with and that he had killed for was actually the picture of the womans daughter.
So be careful with the cyber romances, what you see is not always what you get.

Do you really think that what your kids listen to can cause them to be Gay?.If you listen to Donnie Davies this is the case. He has compiled a list of bad and good musicians to listen to. A mother recently lost her son to cancer, and like any mother she was devastated, I don't think any mother want to live to see a child die.After taking off from work to go through the grieving process she thought it was best to just go back to work and stay busy as she had a very demanding job.
when she went back to work, everyone was happy to see her back and no one brought up the death of her son and that was how she wanted it,professional. This worked out well until she went to another office and one lady said, come here, you need a hug, the lady became upset because she didnt want a hug, she was trying to remain professional and not break down in front of everyone, she finally just told her no, I don't want a hug. Her coworker was upset because she refused the hug and told everyone how mean this woman was and her feelings was hurt and thought that she was owed an apology.
I think that a persons boundaries need to be respected. Everyone handles grief differently. The problem also is some people don't like to be touched or hugged. Then you have the touchy feeling person that like to hug everybody,
What type of person are you? touchy feeling, likes to hug and be hugged or are you a hands off type,keep your hugs to yourself an stay your distance.

"Please Pray For Joshua"
I received an urgent prayer request this morning from my online prayer group,I am sharing it with you and asking all to pray.
The following is a special request from a grandmother for her 7 year old grandson that has been in a coma for three months at Shands Hospital, Gainesville, FL:
I wanted to send a quick email to ask for your urgent and fervent prayer for
Joshua. We are really at a very crucial point right now, and, it cannot be
overstated how serious it is.
The neurologist, Dr. Carney, the neurosurgeon, and, the top neuroradiologist
all looked at Joshua's MRI that was done today. Dr. Carney said that his
brain looked undamaged, but, that it looked 30-40% smaller (shrunken) than
the one done in early December. He said it's either due to the seizure
activity or being on the Pentobarb and not moving around for 3 months or
both. Either way, it's not a great thing and does, in itself, indicate he
will need extensive rehab ("if he gets through this", as Dr. Carney said).
Now, just as a side note, I do not consider for even one second that Joshua
"might not get through this". I do consider, though, that the enemy is good
at laying traps to discourage one's faith in what the Almighty has indicated
Again, Dr. Carney told me that he's truly amazed that Joshua is still alive
because he's not aware of ANY case where a child has remained alive through
this type thing, 3-months into it. Praise God! Oh, it is no accident that
Joshua is still alive! Not by chance, not by good luck, not by the right
roll of the dice, but by the will of Almighty God is Joshua still alive!
AND, his capabilities are remarkable! He's not running around the room
(yet), but, he's able to do SO much for being in the state he's been in for
3 months.
The plan is still to wean Joshua from the Pentobarb over the next 3 days.
If he does well (little to no seizures), we'll keep moving forward in that
direction. He'd be on the diet and anti-seizure meds and eventually move to
full rehab. If he doesn't do so well, in terms of seizure control, then, by
Monday, we'll have to determine whether or not we want to go the surgery
route (and, whether or not we should have a 2nd opinion, though, a
difference in opinion is not likely). The doctor was quite blunt about his
not making it much longer if he stays on the Pentobarb and in this state (in
the bed). His brain would continue to shrink and the result would be death.
Please pray with passion and urgency that God will move swiftly and
definitively on Joshua's behalf. Unless surgery is the absolute will of the
Almighty God, then, I ask you to pray that He will put out the fire of
Joshua's seizures altogether or reduce them so drastically that he can be
without the Pentobarb. Please pray that He will cause Joshua to respond to
the diet (or, medication, if He so wills) and that drastic and obvious
progress will be manifested. Please pray that God will make Joshua's
seizure activity to cease or almost completely cease from the moment he is
started being weaned from the Pentobarb (which should be any time now).
Please pray that the saving and healing hand of Jehovah Rapha be upon
Joshua, especially over these next few days.
"A Chimp To Help With Housework"
I read a story the other day that had me in stitches. It was about the chimp that escaped from the zoo in Arkansas.The chimp got out when a worker opened the door, he was unaware that the chimp was not in it's cage.
They tried everything to woo it back into the cage without success.Judy was the chimps name. Judy apparently used to live with a private family and was trained . While out of the cage she opened the refrigerator where all of their snacks were kept, ate and drank from all the bottles that she could open and just enjoyed her short time of freedom.
The funny part was when she went to the bathroom, she took a toilet brush and cleaned the toilet. this is apparently one of the things she was taught to do before the zoo acquired her.They said she then wrung out a sponge and wiped the refrigerator down.
They were finally able to sedate Judy and she fell asleep on top of the fridge. What a smart chimp, I could use one like that to help me with my chores at home.
"E-Harmony Does work"
I had the greatest experience at work today. I get a call at least every two weeks from a southern sounding gentleman.He calls an orders flowers for his girlfriend which is great because some women say that they never get flowers.
The surprise was when I receive a call from him stating that he was in town and would love to meet the person behind the voice and wanted to come by the shop to meet me. What a pleasure it was because he also brought his girlfriend by who I had never met before. A beautiful couple showed up with this big beautiful gift basket from Hawaii with all kinds of chocolate with macadamia nuts, it also contained a small floral design with tiny red anthuriums. They wanted to thank me for always sending her what they called was designs that was always more then expected.Which my motto is always expect more. Anyway I was so surprised that they would take the time to bring me a gift of appreciation like that.
I found out that they have been dating almost two years and that they met on e-harmony. The big surprise also is that they planned on getting married eventually and they want me to do the wedding.I was touched.
He is apparently a big business man that travels a lot. He was leaving for Thailand tonight.I guess e-harmony does work.
"Let's Get Involved"
I know that by now we have all heard the story of the two young boys that were kidnapped in Missouri.Thank God they were rescued safely and returned to their parents.
The people who lived in the same apartment where the boys were held thought the man living there seemed pretty nice. They reported that they heard loud noises coming from the apartment, that included banging, shouting and arguing. Neighbors also told authorities that they wondered why they never saw the boy going to or coming from school.All of these things were red flags that something was wrong. But this is a case where no one wanted to get involved,which is so often the case. I sometime do the same thing , when I thought my neighbor was selling drugs I could have called and reported my suspicions and now I feel very bad that I didn't because a close friend of mine got hurt by this same neighbor last week, from this incident my neighbor is now in jail.
I think also of the case that happened years ago where a young woman was trying to get away from her attacker and even though a lot if people heard her screaming for help, no one called the police, because no one wanted to get involved, she died.
This should be a wake up call for all of us,we need to start acting on what we see as abnormal activity coming from a home or apartment. If we hear someone crying for help, a child with bruises and the list goes on. We need to start getting involved, we need to inform authorities an this can be done anonomously.we just might save some one's Life.

I read in the paper recently that a woman hired a hit man to kill her boyfriend because he had split with her and gotten a new girlfriend. It is very sad that she couldn't just move on with her life, instead she let the little green monster called jealously take control and now she is going to have a lot of time to think about her actions,in jail.
How stupid is that?
"Searching For Your Birth Mother"
There is a young man on soulcast trying to find his real mother, he was adopted as a Baby. The reason that he is trying to find her now is that he recently found out that he has cancer and is scheduled for major surgery on Feb. 2nd. and he is desperately seeking answers about his family history.He is very frustrated because all that he has hit so far is a brick wall.Lots of friends are helping him to search.He did find out that she went to Washington State University.this is the best lead that he has had so far.
He has checked the universities,ancestry.com an genealogy.com. with no luck. he states that he don't care if he never meet her , he just want some answers about his medical history.Right now he is ready to give up but know that he has come to far to give up the search.
He really needs prayer and if you have any further tips on finding a loved one , please pass it on.The only thing is some people that put their kids up for adoption doesn't want to be found.
"Why Do I hate Chocolate?
My husband just celebrated his birthday and I bought a chocolate cake for him because that is his favorite. Not only is this his favorite cake but it's every one in the house favorite but mine.I could not help but wonder why is my tastebuds so different from mostly everyone I know. I try eating a little an then it's like yuck, I can't eat any more.
I know that I am in the minority, but is there anyone else out there that doesn't like chocolate?
"Dying To Be Thin"
Losing weight and getting healthy is on a lot of our resolution list for 07, including mine. The only problem is that some people don't want to work at it any longer, they have struggled with obesity all their lives and have decided to go the surgical route,according to medical news, weight loss surgery is more popular then ever,even teenagers are going under the knife.
The most well known surgery is the gastric bypass, it is for those that are considered morbidly obese.The rate of people getting the surgery grows steadily among both men and women.
There are serious side effects to this surgery. I think that a lot of people don't weigh the full consequences of what they are putting their body through, they are only thinking of how good they are going to look afterwards.Serious complications and even deaths have occurred from the surgery.
I had a friend to go through the surgery and she did lose weight rapidly and looked real good but she stayed in and out of the hospital.
I think that in the end our best bet is to do it the old fashioned way.Eat healthy an head to the gym or just take a daily walk. whatever way you decide to do it, keep a positive attitude.
I wrote a post not to long ago about blog worth, I have since found out that blogs are selling for big money.Blogs are very popular now and the big companies have taken notice.One of the most famous cases of a blog sale was when AOL bought Weblogs for $25 million.
Some people have more then one blog, then there are others that have blogs and no longer have time for them. One man that started a blog in June,06 decided to sell his for that reason. He sold it to the highest bidder for $1.500.
The most popular blogs that sell are technology blogs, sports and gaming blogs, gossip about the stars, and cooking blogs with recipes.Also blogs with good links an google ads thet are bringing in some revenue and lots of visitors a month.
The most popular site for placing your blog to sell is Sitepoint, but there are plenty of other sites on the web.Blog Media has announced that Biziki is now for sale on sitepoint. They want to sell it for $5,000, it now has a bid for $,700.
Final thought ,I know that our blogs are priceless as for the joy it brings and the many friends I've made,but for those that have an interest in selling , check out sitepoint. You can always start another blog, I have three.
The Boss from hell is a real nightmare. Imagine having to go to work and dreading it because your supervisor or Boss seem to take delight in making your life miserable. A friend of mine had a boss like that, when she got the job, she thought it was a dream job. It was working for a designing firm owned by a very wealthy woman who seemed to have it all together.When interviewed she was asked what day she was born on which she thought was odd. The reason she found out later was because her Boss was heavy into astrology,and paid big for a daily reading. One reading showed that that their astrological signs was not compatible,then trouble started, whereas she was nice before she became the Boss from hell and treated her like dirt, she soon quit,said it was not worth the hassle.
The Boss from Hell is mean spirited and has a lot of power, they like to use their position to intimidate and use people, They are boss and don't want you to forget it,they like being catered to an there is nothing that you can do to please them.

My husband goes walking every day and when he returned home a man came up to him and asked for help, apparently he left home to run an errand and had a memory laspe and could not remember anything, his name or where he lived, So my husband took him for a slow drive in the surrounding area and he started seeing things that looked familiar and finally spotted what he thought was his house, Thank God that it was.
That is frightning. I often read about this happening to people.This was an older man and was probably suffering from Alzheimer,but short term memory loss is something that can occur at any age.The most common cause of short term memory loss is stress,depression lack of sleep, fatigue and trauma to the head.
So don't think that this only happens to the elderly.
How would you handle it if your wife was having a Baby for another man? It is not an easy thing to face I am sure. Consider that you are in a loving relationship and that you both decide that you want to have children, the problem is that the wife wants a baby now because she feels that her biological clock is ticking and she doesn't want to wait until she is to old.The husband on the other hand is not ready to bring a child into the world and comes up with all kinds of excuses. He is not ready to give up his night with the guys, drinking and partying. trouble develops in the marriage and they finally separate.
He eventually finds out that she is pregnant with another man's Baby.He is heartbroken because he still loves her,he now knows that he has made a big mistake because this could have been his child. He is staying in contact with his wife hoping that they will be able to work it out, He is willing to be a father to this child and he is asking for prayer.

CLEANING HOUSE FOR 2007
Last Week I threw out Worrying, it was getting old and in the way.
It kept me from being me; I couldn't do things God's way.
I threw out a book on MY PAST
(Didn't have time to read it anyway).
Replaced it with NEW GOALS, started reading it today.
I threw out hate and bad memories,
(Remember how I treasured them so)?
Got me a NEW PHILOSOPHY too, threw out the one from long ago.
Brought in some new books too, called I CAN, I WILL, AND I MUST.
Threw out I might, I think and I ought.
WOW, you should've seen the dust.
I ran across an OLD FRIEND, I hadn't talked to in a while.
His name is GOD the Father, and I really like His style.
He helped me to do some cleaning and added some things Himself.
Like PRAYER, HOPE, FAITH and LOVE,
Yes I placed them right on the shelf.
I picked up this special thing and placed it at the front door.
I FOUND IT- its called PEACE. Nothing gets me down anymore.
Yes, I've got my house looking nice.
Looks good around the place.
For things like Worry and Trouble there just isn't any space.
It's good to do a little house cleaning,
Get rid of the things on the shelf.
It sure makes things brighter; maybe you should TRY IT YOURSELF.

A United Nations report came out last week and has identified the world’s rapidly growing herds of cattle as the greatest threat to the climate forests and wildlife. That’s right! God’s creatures, poisoning our environment, more than cars, planes and all other forms of transport put together. These brown eyed babe’s also produce more than 100 other polluting gases, including more than two-thirds of the world’s emissions of ammonia, one of the main causes of acid rain. Which had the environmentalist going nuts in the 80’s. A 400- page report by the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), titled,” Livestock’s Long Shadow”, also surveys the damage done by sheep, chickens, pigs and goats. But in almost every case, the world’s 1.5 billon cattle are most at fault. These creatures are responsible for 18% of the greenhouse gases that cause global warming, more than all other forms of transportation combined. The UN’s (FAO), also said in their report that cattle accounted for 65% of nitrous-oxide. That is greenhouse gas with 296 times greater potential to cause global warming. Nitrous oxide is released from manure. Gases from cattle ruminants include methane which warms the planet 20 times faster than carbon dioxide the report said. The (FAO) report calls for improved production methods and better animal feeds that would reduce flatulence in the cattle and lessen the methane emissions.
Do you know whats in your Medicine Cabinet?
This is hard for me to believe, three local teens were rushed to th hospital recently because they overdosed on cold medicine. When I think of the hard time I had trying to get my kids to open their mouth for any kind of medicine.The three students started vomiting at school,further investigation revealed that they had ingested over 100 Robitussin capsules over a 3 day period.They all face suspension from school and a fine for public intoxication.
Now a Govt. study reveals that even more kids are abusing over the counter medicine for coughs and colds. 1 in every 14 high school seniors said they use cold medicine to get high.The ingredient called DXM is found in mostly all cold medicine.When taken some experience out of body erxperience, hallicinations,etc.
The side effects caused by taking this include,abdomin al pain, vomiting, dizziness an rapid heart beat. The most serious side effects can include suppression of the central nervous system which can cause a person to stop breathing.
Most kids start doing this because they are bored and because their friends are doing it,also they are learning about it on the internet.Its time for parents to be more aware of this problem and know what's in your medicine cabinets. - A man has reached middle age when he is cautioned to slow down by his doctor instead of by the police.
- Middle age is having a choice of two temptations and you choose the one that will get you home earlier.
"Excess Baggage."
I spoke with a good friend of mine today that called to wish me Happy New Year. When asked how she was doing? she said something very strange,she said that she was doing well because she had just shed 1,800 lbs. when asked what did she mean by that she went on to explain that all those friends in her life who had over the years proven to be anything but a friend, she had made a list of them with their weight beside their name and she added it all up and decided that these friends were Excess Baggage that she would no longer carry.
I was very intrigued by this and thought do I have any friends like that, I could not think of one friend that I wanted to mark off as excess baggage.
If you think that you have a friend that you consider Excess Baggage, free yourself of the extra weight.

Southern Superstitions
I grew up with a very superstitious grandmother, with the start of the new year,I thought of some that I will share.
Hoppin' John: Black-eyed peas and ham hocks is a Southern staple thought to bring good luck.
Eating greens is reputed to bring money; eating cornbread might bring wealth.
I will definitely be cooking black eye peas and greens today.
Superstitions
Loud noises, including fireworks and gunshots, scare away evil spirits and bring good luck on New Year's Eve.
Don't put up a new calendar or write in a new diary before the New Year begins.
Empty pockets and empty cupboards warn of a year of poverty.
All debts should be paid by the new year, but don't pay bills or lend money on New Year's Day.
The doors to a house must all be opened at midnight to let the old year escape unimpeded before the New Year enters.
New Year's Day babies bring prosperity to a household.
Clocks should be wound as soon as the New Year begins, but all cleaning should be done early on Dec. 31 to avoid sweeping out good luck.
Breaking something on Jan. 1 could mean a year of wreckage.
This next one about a man enterring a house first was very important to her.
The first person to enter your home after midnight will influence the year you will have. Ideally, that person should be tall, dark, handsome and bearing gifts. If the first person to enter is a red-haired female, that is a sign of bad luck for the year ahead. In fact, females of all hair shades should be discouraged from being the first person in the door.
She had a fit if a woman came to the house,they was not invited in, it had to be a man.
We were never allowed to sweep out after dark, you were sweeping someone out of the family.
The list goes on but I will stop here.
