I Want To Be Six Again:

06.29.07 (1:06 am)   [edit]

To Whom It May Concern:

I hereby officially tender my resignation as an adult.
I have decided I would like to accept the responsibilities of a 6 year old again.

To Whom It May Concern:

I hereby officially tender my resignation as an adult.
I have decided I would like to accept the responsibilities of a 6 year old again.

I want to go to McDonald's and think that it's a four star restaurant.
I want to sail sticks across a fresh mud puddle and make ripples with rocks.
I want to think M&Ms are better than money, because you can eat them.
I want to play kickball during recess and paint with watercolors in art.
I want to lie under a big Oak tree and run a lemonade stand with my friends on a hot summers' day.

I want to return to a time when life was simple.

When all you knew were colors, addition tables and simple nursery rhymes, but that didn't bother you, because you didn't know what you didn't know and you didn't care.

When all you knew was to be happy because you didn't know all the things that should make you worried and upset.

I want to think that the world is fair.
That everyone in it is honest and good.
I want to believe that anything is possible

I want to believe in the power of smiles, hugs, a kind word, truth, justice, peace, dreams, the imagination, mankind and making angels in the snow.

I want to be 6 again.

Block Forced Use Of ID Implants

06.27.07 (2:33 am)   [edit]

RFIDs means Radio Frequency Identification Device.

Have you ever had to wear an ID badge on your job and forgot an left your badge at home? Of couse most of us have. If you had a small device about the size of a grain of rice inserted under your skin that would no longer be a problem.

Some employers are already requiring that you have one of these devices implanted. These devices can also be placed in badges, passports or drivers license that transmit radio signals.

A bill has recently been introduced  that would bar an employer from requiring a person to have one of these devices implanted under the skin. It would also bar use in student badges and drivers licenses before 2011, and set some privacy protection standards in place

We definitely need some privacy protection.

Take The FBI News Quiz

06.26.07 (10:27 am)   [edit]

A six-month undercover investigation in California dubbed “Operation Tarnished Eagle” recently halted a plot involving hundreds of automatic rifles, Stinger missiles, anti-tank rockets, claymore mines, and other arms. One federal official said of the bust: “This investigation read like a movie script, but turned out to be reality.” Here in the form of a quiz is a look at the California takedown and some other interesting recent cases from our 56 field offices.

How Much Do You Know About Our World?

06.25.07 (10:24 am)   [edit]

Test your knowledge:

How much do you know about the world?

Can you name the world's most spoken primary language? The largest consumer of oil? The most heavily fortified border on the planet? The current population of the U.S.?

We tested the geography knowledge of 18- to 24-year-olds across the U.S. to see how much they know about our world. How did they do? More know where the TV show CSI is set than can find Iraq on a map. The survey shows that too many young Americans have a limited understanding of the world.

Scrabble On THe Go:

06.24.07 (2:56 pm)   [edit]

Word Game....Scrabble on the Go:

Rules:

You can only change one letter

You can not add letters

The first word is Duck

Everybody Knows:

06.24.07 (9:04 am)   [edit]

You can't be all things to all people.
You can't do all things at once.
You can't do all things equally well.
You can't do all things better than everyone else.
Your humanity is showing just like everyone else's.

So:
You have to find out who you are, and be that.
You have to decide what comes first, and do that.
You have to discover your strengths, and use them.
You have to learn not to compete with others,
Because no one else is in the contest of *being you*.

Dare To Believe:
That you are a wonderful, unique person.
That you are a once-in-all-history event.
That it's more than a right, it's your duty, to be who you are.
That life is not a problem to solve, but a gift to cherish.
And you'll be able to stay one up on what used to get you down.

Paris Hilton

06.23.07 (2:44 am)   [edit]

Paris Hilton is a celebrity that's known for being famous for doing absolutely nothing, being rich and having a sex tape. She gets sent to jail for 45 days for thumbing her nose at the law. The question is should Paris have been treated any different from a non celebrity?

The Los Angeles County Sheriff  pointed out (and he should know) that Ms. Hilton’s sentence was much greater than would have been given to a non-celebrity in identical circumstances.

Second -- and here’s the really significant revelation – any other female given a 45-day sentence is automatically cut to 23 days for good behavior. plus they would only serve three days to cope with the overcrowding of the jail. You actually serve only 10 percent of the sentence.

You don’t need money or power to get out of jail  free. I have a friend that has been caught twice for DUI, he was out in three days. Paris Hilton is doing her time but so should everyone else.

I have never seen a more hated person then Paris. I have better things to do with my time then hate someone that has done absolutely nothing to me.

When they made her serve 23 days rather then the normal 3 days served by everyone else, to me, that is unjust.

Rats Getting Drunk

06.22.07 (2:13 am)   [edit]

Authorities in India say rats are gnawing at beer cans and making holes in caps of whisky bottles stored in police storehouses in the east of the country and apparently getting drunk.

Kundan Krishnan, a senior officer says the rodents' love for liquor has the police department in Bihar state stumped as it tries to store hundreds of bottles seized from illegal sellers from across the state in Patna, the state capital.

"We are fed up with these drunk rats and cannot explain why they have suddenly turned to consumption of alcohol," he said.

The problem costs revenue as the seized liquor is usually sold through auctions, he said.

Rats were also attacking people near the police buildings, nibbling at their toes, although it was not clear if they were under the influence, officials and witnesses said.

"APATHY"

06.20.07 (10:15 pm)   [edit]

"Is ignorance or apathy the biggest problem with the world today?

"The nice thing about apathy is you don't have to exert yourself to show you're sincere about it."

"The world is full of apathy and complancy, and no one cares."

Did you hear about the company that makes blank bumper stickers? they're for people that don't want to get involved.

The opposite of love is not hate, but apathy. You can't hate someone you don't care about.

Love will find a way.  Indifference will find an excuse.

"Science may have found a cure for most evils; but it has found no remedy for the worst of them all... the apathy of human beings."

"Let's Care about each other"

"Predudice Still Exist"

06.20.07 (3:34 am)   [edit]
This was emailed to me and I cant help but smile and say that the woman in this story got what she deserved....
What small steps are taken to achieve freedom for us all?

This scene took place on a British Airways flight between Johannesburg, South Africa & London.  A white woman, about 50 years old, was seated next to a black man.  Very disturbed by this, she called the air hostess. "You obviously do not see it then?" she asked. "You placed me next to a black man.  I did not agree to sit next to someone from such a repugnant group. Give me an alternative seat."  "Be calm please," the hostess replied.  "Almost all the places on this flight are taken. I will go to see if another place is available."

The hostess went away & then came back a few minutes later.  "Madam, just as I thought, there are no other available seats in Economy Class. I spoke to the captain & he informed me that there is also no seat in Business Class. All the same, we still have one place in First Class."  Before the woman could say anything, the hostess continued. "It is not usual for our company to permit someone from Economy Class to sit in First Class. However, given the circumstances, the captain feels that it would be scandalous to make someone sit next to someone so disgusting."

She turned to the black guy, & said, "Therefore, sir, if you would like to, please collect your hand luggage, a seat awaits you in First Class."  At that moment, the other passengers, who'd been shocked by what they had just witnessed, stood up & applauded.

This is a true story. If you are against racism, please send this to all your friends; please do not delete it without sending it to at least 1 person.

WELL DONE, British Airways

Cheap Shot At Iraq Soldiers

06.19.07 (3:08 am)   [edit]

A GI stationed in iraq inquired with  an online retailer that sells mattresses if they shipped to APOs (a specific type of address that only soldiers in the US armed services have). he received  the response that no, they didn't, and "if he were sensible, he and his troops would pull out of iraq".

Although the site later claims they fired the employee responsible, whatever your politics, this was absolutely shameful. I am appalled. even if you hate the presence of US troops in iraq, it isn't the soldiers' fault they're there! I was so angry after reading this.

Another company after reading the story sent them a large supply of the mattresses.

Death Caused By Overdose of Bengay

06.18.07 (1:29 am)   [edit]

When using over the counter drugs. you have to be just as careful in using them as drugs prescribed by a doctor. All medicine have side effects and some more serious then others.

I was very shocked to read about the death of the young lady who died after using Bengay after an injury.

The New York City medical examiner's office ruled last week that 17-year-old cross-country runner Arielle Newman died from an accidental overdose of methyl salicylate, the wintergreen-scented ingredient found in popular sports balms.

To help ease exercise-related discomfort, the Staten Island teenager reportedly had been putting Bengay on her legs between running meets, while also using adhesive pads with methyl salicylate, an aspirin-like anti-inflammatory, and a third product, according to the Associated Press.

"There were multiple products, used to great excess," Ellen Borakove, a spokeswoman for the NYC medical examiner's office, told the AP. All of the products can be found as nonprescription items on drug store shelves.

But over-the-counter almost never means "harmless," experts warned....

The bottom line, according to the experts, is that every drug -- even a nonprescription cream -- comes with some level of risk.

"Just because it's OTC doesn't mean that it's entirely safe and that it can be used against the directions that are being set out by the makers," Varlotta said. "People should know what they are taking, both orally and on their skin.

I AM TIRED

06.16.07 (12:06 am)   [edit]

I am tired and ready for some peace and quiet. This has been a full week for me, my grand daughter graduated from high school and practically my husbands entire family came out for it.

They have been here for a week an everyone is flying out tomorrow. The only good part was that they rented a 4 bedroom house for a week and didn't have to stay with me. It was nice having them here and we all had a nice time but you finally get tired of the company and just want things to return to normal.

I hardly had any time to blog or read anyone else's so looking forward to catching up.

I often think of how close knit my husbands family is compared to mine, I usually only hear from mine when someone needs some money. How close are you with your family?

Jury Duty Scam

06.12.07 (1:26 am)   [edit]

The source of the information is the FBI and their direct site is provided for additional details on this scam.

JURY DUTY SCAM:

This has been verified by the FBI (their link is also included below). Please pass this on to everyone in your email address book. It is spreading fast so be prepared should you get this call. Most of us take those summons for jury duty seriously, but enough people skip out on their civic duty, that a new and ominous kind of scam has surfaced.

The caller claims to be a jury coordinator. If you protest that you never received a summons for jury duty, the scammer asks you for your Social Security number and date of birth so he or she can verify the information and cancel the arrest warrant. Give out any of this information and your identity just got stolen. The scam has been reported so far in 11 states, including Oklahoma , Illinois , and California . This scam is particularly insidious because they use intimidation over the phone to try to bully people into giving information by pretending they're with the court system. The FBI and the federal court system have issued nationwide alerts on their web sites, warning consumers about the fraud.

This is from the FBI's website - their link is: Check it out for yourself

"Gambling Online Is Illegal"

06.11.07 (1:11 am)   [edit]

My friend is mentally ill

06.08.07 (2:04 am)   [edit]

I have a friend that is having some serious mental issues right now. She has been under psych care off and on through out the 10 years that I have known her, she was abused as a child.

when properly medicated she is able to function fairly normal. for the last six weeks she is having all kinds of hallucinations, she thinks someone is pumping chemicals into the house or someone is in the attic or knocking at the doors and windows. She calls me off and on doing the day, she sent me her door keys over last night so that I can come on in as she was sure someone would kill her doing the night..

First call I received this morning was her telling me, I'm waiting an asked waiting for what? the answer was waiting on them to come and kill me. I tried to get her out of the house for awhile but she backed out at the last minute.. I have did everything I could to get her some help without any luck because I am a friend and not a family member. The Pastor had someone to go and check her yesterday but the answer sgiven is so long as she is not a threat to herself or others that their was nothing that they could do..

I called her oldest daughter last night to tell her to please try and get her some help, she said that they were just outsourcing her from one Dr. to another. She said she had also tried to talk her into commiting herself but she won't do that.

Please keep her in your prayers that she get the help that she needs.

Get Out And Do It

Get out there and give real help!
Get out there and love!
Get out there and testify!
Get out there and create whatever you can to inspire people to claim their divine being and origin.
This is what has to be done now.
There is no time, there has never been any time for dallying and being depressed."

"Hunger Awareness Day"

06.01.07 (8:58 am)   [edit]

It is estimated that one billion people in the world suffer from hunger and malnutrition. That's roughly 100 times as many as those who actually die from these causes each year.

About 24,000 people die every day from hunger or hunger-related causes. This is down from 35,000 ten years ago, and 41,000 twenty years ago. Three-fourths of the deaths are children under the age of five.

Famine and wars cause about 10% of hunger deaths, although these tend to be the ones you hear about most often. The majority of hunger deaths are caused by chronic malnutrition. Families facing extreme poverty are simply unable to get enough food to eat.
