Lloyd Walker, chair of Alabama A&M University's Department of Food and Animal Sciences who co-authored the study, said these phytochemicals have antioxidant qualities that protect cells against the risk of degenerative diseases, including cancers, diabetes and heart disease.

"Boiling is a better method of preparing peanuts in order to preserve these phytochemicals," Walker said.

Walker said peanuts and other plants use phytochemicals for things such as helping avoid disease and insect attacks.

"These things are not nutrients; at the same time they have health benefits to humans, "The trick is to keep those health benefits, not to process them out of the foods."

According to Walker, water and heat penetrate the nuts, releasing beneficial chemicals to a certain point. Overcooking the nuts destroys the useful elements.

This is good news because I love boiled peanuts.

Recipe for boiled peanuts

2 to 3 pounds fresh green peanuts
1 1/2 cups salt

Put the peanuts and the salt in a large stockpot. Cover completely with water. Bring to a boil and simmer for at least 1 hour and up to 3 hours. To check whether they are done, pull 1 or 2 peanuts out of the pot and crack them open. When they are soft, they are done. If they are still slightly crunchy, they are not done yet, If they are not salty enough, leave them in the salted water and turn off the heat. When they are done, drain and serve immediately

I am a diabetic type 2,and so is a lot of other people. When you are diabetic it seems that you have a craving for sweets even more.

I found out that I can still eat sweets in moderation as long as I take my medicine. Everyone is different though, even though it doesn't affect me it might be opposite for you.

I found and excellent dessert for diabetics that you can eat.

Diabetic Apple Cheese Tartlets Recipe

2 large Granny Smith apples, skins on, and
thinly sliced
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp unbleached white flour
2 tsp cinnamon
1 cup shredded low-fat cheddar cheese
1/2 cup unbleached white flour
1 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp low-calorie margarine
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
Water, as needed

Apple Cheese Tartlets Recipe Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Combine the apples with the brown sugar, honey, 1 tablespoon flour, and cinnamon. Toss well. Divide the apple mixture among 6 custard cups. Sprinkle each tart with some cheese. Combine 1/2 cup flour, sugar, margarine, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Sprinkle evenly over the tarts. Sprinkle with a little water to moisten. Bake until the apples are cooked and the topping is browned, about 20 minutes.

 This is what Oxi-clean is...  3% peroxide This was written by Becky Ramsey of Indiana 'I would like to tell you of the benefits of that plain little old bottle of 3% peroxide you can get for under $1.00 at any drug store. My husband has been in the medical field for over 36 years, and most doctors don't tell you about peroxide, or they would lose thousands of dollars.'

 1. Take one capful (the little white cap that comes with the bottle) and hold in your mouth for 5-10 minutes daily, then spit it out. (I do it when I bathe) No more canker sores and your teeth will be whiter without expensive pastes. Use it instead of mouthwash (Small print says mouth wash and gargle right on the bottle) 2. Let your toothbrushes soak in a cup of 'Peroxide' to keep them free of germs.

3. Clean your counters, table tops with peroxide to kill germs and leave a fresh smell. Simply put a little on your dishrag when you wipe, or spray it on the counters. 4. After rinsing off your wooden cutting board, pour peroxide on it to kill salmonella and other bacteria. 5. The pain will lessen greatly. 10. And of course, if you like a natural look to your hair, spray the 50/50 solution on your wet hair after a shower and comb it through. You will not have the peroxide burnt blonde hair like the hair dye packages, but more natural highlights if your hair is a light brown, reddish, or dirty blonde. . 11. Put half of a bottle of peroxide in your bath to help rid boils, fungus, or other skin infections. 12. You can also add a cup of peroxide instead of bleach to a load of whites in your laundry to whiten them. If there is blood on clothing, pour directly on the soiled spot. Let it sit for a minute, then rub it and rinse with cold water. Repeat if necessary.

13. I use peroxide and newspaper to clean my mirrors with, and there is no smearing or streaking which is why I love it so much for this. I could go on and on. It is a little brown bottle no home should be without! With prices of most necessities rising, I'm glad there's a way to save tons of money in such a simple, healthy manner.

A friend of mine went to the club last week and met a 40 year old woman that he met on the dance floor and he said the woman was just all over him. I guess she thought he was pretty hot.One thing led to another and she invited him to go home with her.

 She told him to leave his car at the club and drive hers, She lives way in Hemet, as he get her almost home he said he looked over at her for just a second and the next thing you know he has plowed into the back of someones truck that he said was sticking out a little to far. I'll tell you that it was a very expensive look because he completely totaled her car and did quite a bit of damage to the truck.

 I think that she will be a little more careful before picking up someone and inviting him to drive her truck. Plus she never even got the night of passion that she was after. She ended up with two black eyes and a bruised body instead.

Think she learned anything, I hope so.

I recently read a story about people that are good looking acheive more in life. Not because of how smart they are or because of their great work performance but because of how beautiful or handsome they are.

 It states that people who are well groomed, attractive, thin and in shape receive higher paying jobs and make more money.This means that if an average-looking person earned $50,000 per annum, their better-looking co-workers would make $52,500 per annum, while their least attractive colleagues brought home just over $45,800 per annum.

The research also concluded that more attractive workers get more promotions than plain-looking ones.It has been observed that appearance can affect your confidence and communication, hence your productivity. This could be a reason why some employers choose to promote the more striking employees over the plain ones.

I think that it's an unfair practice , but it is reality.
 
 

Teenagers are bored and seeme to always be looking for the next thrill. that new thing is called sexting, sending sexy photos via cell phone. A lot of kids heve gotten in troule for sending nude or half nude pictures of themselves to their friends. They think that it is a private matter  and no one's business.

Sexting is a serious matter and Can put them at risk for prosecution on Kiddie Porn Charges. the problem being that the friend send it to their friends and it ends up on myspace for the world to see.

I can not stand for my nails to be to long. I have a lady that goes to my church that wears her nails very long and I can't

 help but wonder how does she use the toilet with nails like

that.

When I read about the woman with the longest nails according

to the Guinness book of records, It was hard to believe that anyone could grow their nails that long.

were broken. Sad for her because she has been growing those nails since 79.

It is so sad when Judges become so greedy and corrupt that they are willing to put children in prison for money.

For years, the juvenile court system in Wilkes-Barre operated like a conveyor belt: Youngsters were brought before judges without a lawyer, given hearings that lasted only a minute or two, and then sent off to juvenile prison for months for minor offenses.

 Two Pennsylvania judges have been charged with taking millions of dollars in kickbacks to send teenagers to two privately run youth detention centers.

Among the offenders were teenagers who were locked up for months for stealing loose change from cars, writing a prank note and possessing drug paraphernalia. Many had never been in trouble before. Some were imprisoned even after probation officers recommended against it.

Many appeared without lawyers, despite the U.S. Supreme Court's landmark 1967 ruling that children have a constitutional right to counsel.

They have been removed from the bench and may they spend the rest of their lives behind bars.

I have a neighbor across the street from me that likes to go around half naked, this would not bother me if this man was not so hairy, I mean this man's chest and back is covered with thick dark hair. It is a real turn off for me. my husband thinks it's funny that it upsets me so.

I like a clean shaven man but do think that some men with beards look good..

I was reading other women's thoughts on men with excessive body hair, some women thought that it was sexy and perfered hairy guys.

But the majority of women dislike hair on the back, but are too embarrassed to tell their mate.

Karma deals with causality. A specific action leads to a specific result. A positive act will lead to a positive result. Negative acts will unavoidably sooner or later lead to suffering.

So there is good karma and bad karma
If we do good deeds and treat people like we want to be treated, that is good
karma.

We also may act ugly and treat people like dirt and that they are beneath us,
that bad Karma will eventually catch up with you.

Buddha said: "Our good and evil deeds follow us continually like shadows."

Spontaneous Human Combustion is a real mystery to me, How do a person just go up in flames and just burn completely up.

It is not something new to me but I have not heard of it happening in years. Then I read about the man last week, He suffered second and third degrees burns and the firemen was baffled as to what caused it. The man survived and is being treated.

Most people that this happen to does not survive. It has been reported  by the Medical Examiner that the body temperature reach at least 2,000-3,000 degrees and newspaper two feet away is untouched.

One case involved a lady sitting in a chair that spontaneously combusted in 1951. All that remained was a 4 feet black circle.

Medical examiners stated that the 3,000-degree heat required to destroy the body should have destroyed the apartment as well. In fact, damage was minimal - the ceiling and upper walls were covered with soot. No chemical accelerants, incidentally, were found.

In 1944 Peter Jones, survived this experience and reported that there was no sensation of heat nor sighting of flames. He just saw smoke. He stated that he felt no pain.

Many victims have been overweight - yet others have been skinny.

No satisfactory explanation of Spontaneous Human Combustion has ever been given. It is still an unsolved mystery.

- The body is normally more severely burned than one that has been caught in a normal fire.

- The burns are not distributed evenly over the body; the extremities are usually untouched by fire, whereas the torso usually suffers severe burning.

- In some cases the torso is completely destroyed, the bones being reduced completely to ash.

- Small portions of the body (an arm, a foot, maybe the head) remain unburned.

- Only objects immediately associated with the body have burned; the fire never spread away from the body. SHC victims have burnt up in bed without the sheets catching fire, clothing worn is often barely singed, and flammable materials only inches away remain untouched.

- Although temperatures of about 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit are normally required to char a body so thoroughly (crematoria, which usually operate in the neighborhood of 2,000 degrees, leave bone fragments which must be ground up by hand), frequently little or nothing around the victim is damaged, except perhaps the exact spot where the deceased ignited.

Witnesses who were nearby (in adjacent rooms) report never hearing any sounds, such as cries of pain or calls for assistance.
