Invetro Fertilization
I really have nothing against IVF helping a couple to have a child that is unable to conceive normally, but I think that it has gotten out of hand because there seems to be no guidelines.
When there is guideline some people will go to an unethical Dr. like the Octo mom did.
Who in their right mind would implant 6 or 8 embryos into a woman that already have 3 children at home.
The latest now is a 66 year old woman impregnated with twins, what is going to happen to the babies when she can no longer care for them. At 66 I don't think that you are in no shape mentally or physically to care for two babies. She said it's her business and she
feels fine and is perfectly capable of caring for her children.
What age do you think is to old to have Invetro fertilization?

I think it is OK to have IVF up to the age a woman can naturally get pregnant (most data indicates that by age 45 a woman's probability drops to just 1-2%). Yes, she will be 63 when she goes to drop her kid off at college, but this crazy lady, if she lives that long, will be 84.

I spoke to a fertility doctor friend of mine and she says that their rule of thumb is that the combined age of parents should be less than 90. The adoption agencies also use this rule.

Sku thank you for that information, 45yrs. is a good guideline to not perform invetro
fertilization, only thing is they will just go to another country with no rules.

I think it is a shame to become pregnant at 66 by IVF ~ foolish/stupid/dumb/ignorant, etc
unless that is what she would think of me ... oh well ~ still think it is a SHAME!
