Goofy, lol.... How about a whole new GAME?
Here's my suggestion for some rules:
Someone writes a sentence:
"The boy is crying."
The next person must continue the theme, using the last word as the first word of the next sentence, as before, but the sentence has to continue the story.
.................
"Crying isn't something he did very often."
"Often though, he felt like crying, even when he was able to keep himself from doing it."
"It was a sad thing, and yet he wasn't sure how to stop himself from feeling that way."
"Way down inside, he knew there was something that was eating away at him, and it caused him pain way too often..."
................
Like that - and maybe we could suggest that people give thought to the last word they leave, so the next person isn't left with a word that stops the flow.
-Kind of a group effort in short story writing.
What do you think?
